MAC's Unique Position

We are a high standard urban Montessori school that offers a full-day, year-round innovative early childhood and family educational experience.  MAC serves children ages 8 weeks through 1st grade.  We will phase our growing elementary program and have K-5th grade by 2017.

In a world of rapid change and new discoveries, we can only guess at the skills our children will need to succeed in the 21st century. Now, more than ever, the essential lesson is learning how to learn.  The most important years in our children’s education are not high school and college, but instead, their first twelve years of life. This is when their character, values, self-image, basic skills and knowledge, and appreciation for culture and the arts are formed. >>Read More

SEPTEMBER 6:  MAC'S FAMILY FUN FAIR & GRANDPEOPLE'S DAY!!

What is the Family Fun Fair?

The Family Fun Fair (FFF) began in 2012 as a 10-year anniversary celebration for MAC, and has evolved to an annual end-of-summer celebration for members and friends of our school family. Designed to joyfully bring the community together, this outdoor event takes place on the MAC parking lot and playground, where you’ll find games, crafts, a dunk tank, a food truck, a petting zoo, a caricature artist, music and more! The event is free to attend.  Some of the activities require 1-3 ticket(s) to participate. Tickets are $1 each and available for purchase at the Fair. MAC Families can earn Work Bond Hours for the 2014-2015 school year by attending the FFF. Double hours are offered to those who volunteer to set up, staff booths, and/or tear down & clean up.

 What is Grandpeople’s Day?

Established in 2010, Grandpeople’s Day creates the chance for the extra-special extended family in your child’s life to visit the place where their extra-special MAC student grows, learns and thrives each day.  Addresses are collected from the parent body, and invitations are sent from the school. That day, a professional photographer is on hand to capture cross-generational family photos, tours of the school are given, Montessori materials and philosophy are explained (this is a Grandparent favorite!), refreshments are served, and the web of support for your child’s educational experience is woven a little tighter. Held in November of 2010, 2011 and 2012, the event took a hiatus in 2013.  This year, the event is joining forces with the FFF for an extra-amazing summer extravaganza!

This year, we’re combining them!

By adding Grandpeople’s Day to the Family Fun Fair, we’re able to provide Grandpeople with more of the things they’ve asked for in the past; namely, time with their Grandstudents, and a chance to explore the individual classrooms. Not only that, but National Grandparents Day is that same weekend, on Sunday, September 7th!

At this year’s combined event, you’ll find all the favorite parts of Grandpeople’s Day sprinkled throughout the Family Fun Fair. There will be a professional photographer on hand to snap your family photo, designated areas to both work with and learn about Montessori materials, and tours of the school (including the second floor!)

We hope to see you at MAC from 10:30AM-1:00PM on Saturday, September 6!
